T-Mobile’s Wi-Fi CellSpot Router improves the Wi-Fi signal in your home. Use it to max out your Wi-Fi coverage, even when your cellular network signal is weak, such as in your garage or on your lawn chair. Now you can take full advantage of your home Wi-Fi network to make calls, send/receive texts and connect to the web at no additional cost.
The Wi-Fi CellSpot Router is not the same as a signal booster. The router is designed for customers who do not get at least one bar of 3G/4G signal at their homes. The router uses Wi-Fi Calling for calls at home instead of the T-Mobile network. So while the router does not boost the wireless network signal, it does provide a strong signal to make and receive calls via Wi-Fi Calling in your home.
